Master of Divinity

Programme Overview

The Master of Divinity (MDiv) is a professional degree which equipes men and women with vocational skills for various aspects of Christian work. The Core MDiv course work comprises the bulk of the degree and develops proficiency in biblical languages, theology, church history and applied theology.

CAS offers two concentrations which allow MDiv students to tailor their learning experience to their specific vocational focus. The Pastoral Concentration (men only), prepares men in the MDiv program for vocational pastoral work and emphasizes skill-development in areas of pastoral leadership with the church. The Biblical Counseling Concentration (open to men and women) equips MDiv students with skills to engage in biblical exhortation and mentorship in the counseling context.

Objectives

The Seminary’s motto is: Instruction unto Godliness. The aim for the MDiv program at CAS reflects this twofold emphasis. The instructional component of the MDiv is designed to impart theological skills to our students which will enable them serve vocationally in a variety of capacities. The program aims to stimulate growth in godliness among our students through an intentional focus on spiritual formation.

Learning Outcomes

Successful graduates of the MDiv program will be able to do the following:
